Architecture

Security Reporter is built on a 4-tier architecture:

  • Log Data Sources are the raw log files generated by firewall, VPN, proxy, IDS, host, mail or applications.
  • DB Monitor collects, filters and imports the disparate log data sources into the production SR Database functioning as an intermediary data store.
  • SR Database built on Access, Oracle, Postgres, or SQL Server is loaded with the Security Reporter schema and functions as the primary data store.
  • SR Application runs on Microsoft IIS and .NET framework to design, generate, schedule, and view reports through a web browser.
